Basic Drawing I

In this class there will be a concentration on the Elements of Drawing, ie. , line, value, texture and composition. Black and White media, such as graphite, charcoal, and pen/ink, will be used. Come with a sense of play and exploration. Beginners and those honing their skills are welcome.

Composition And Value Studies 
Ralph Townsend 

This class will stress black and white media to emphasize values. Using pencil, charcoal and pen/ink, students will create compositions that give a full range of values from white to grays to black in order to model the objects - to give hem the appearance of having three dimension - and to show depth in the composition. This is an excellent class for students developing portfolios for college entrance.

PAINTING

 

Acrylic Painting - Barbara Seale

We are very happy to announce this painting course to be taught by a very capable, experienced instructor. This course is designed with an emphasis on professional development in this medium for beginners and as a refresher course. Students will become acquainted with materialsm set-ups, the medium, palettes, and color tubes. For the experienced student, special projects will be developed to provide them new challenges and experiences.

Evening Oil Painting - Ralph Townsend

       Explore the possibilities of this traditional medium while studying still life composition, value and color.

Morning Oil Painting - Rene’ Fletcher

      The instructor will demonstrate different techniques of painting with oils. The student will explore color mixing, line       quality, brush strokes, as well as, the basics of form and composition through use of still- life. Major artists and their       approaches to paint ing will be discussed. Limited space.

Watercolor Painting
