Adult/Teen Course Descriptions & Fees

Potter's Wheel

Instructors: M.E. Bernard, S.Conner, S. McCarty
Most classes are for two hours. Adults and teens (16+) unless otherwise noted.

	Beginner's will learn to center clay, create basic bowl and cylinder forms. Finished pieces will be glazed.
	Intermediate students will develop their bowls into jars, cylinders into jars, mugs or pitchers. Finished pieces will be glazed.
	Advanced students will refine their techniques and learn how to make more consistent pieces while making dinnerware or assembling teapots; or even throw parts for sculpture.

All sessions, 12 hours per session

Fees:
$195, $150 covers instruction only. $45 supply fee includes 25# of clay, glaze, bisque and glaze firings.

Optional: a set of potter's wheel tools, under $12.

PRIVATE LESSONS AVAILABLE. $50 per hour plus supplies.

Handbuilding

Handbuilding/Sculpture for 11-15 year old youths - Sam McCarty

Create pottery and sculpture without a potter‘s wheel. Using various techniques of construction, assemble unique vessels and decorative clay projects.

Tuesdays 4 - 6pm, 6 classes

Fee: $195, 12.5 pounds of clay included

Hand Building/Sculpture - Sam McCarty

Students will create unique work using hand building methods of pinch, coil, and slab construction. Large work is definitely encouraged.

Tuesdays 6:30 - 8:30 pm 6 classes per session
